*Unpolished* 1970s Heuer Monza Chronograph (Ref. 150.501) "Cal. 15" PVD Case W/ Box & Papers

On the historic date of September 7th, 1975, Niki Lauda won the Formula 1 World Championship for Ferrari, the first championship for the Scuderia in over a decade. Adorned on the side of that winning Ferrari featured the "Heuer Chronograph" logo in a grand display as they were one of the primary sponsors of Ferrari during that time. Elated with the success of the pedigreed team, Heuer introduced the Monza Chronograph the following year in celebration, naming the brand new model after the home track of Ferrari.

Making use of the classic Ferrari colorway, the matte black dial of the Monza is embellished with red and white accents throughout. The case was produced in two options, a classic stainless steel option and a factory PVD model for an ultra sporty aesthetic. The Monza ref. 150.501 utilizes the Cal. 15 giving this watch the classic opposing crown configuration and time-keeping reliability.

CASE & BRACELET 

The impressive and beautifully preserved unpolished case with factory PVD coating exhibits extremely crisp finishing and dimensions throughout. The case exhibits gentle signs of honest wear and subtle fading to the PVD in the expected wear areas. The case retains its original Heuer signed crown on the left side of the case and also retains its original fluted chronograph pushers on the right side of the case. The case back remains unpolished with gentle wear and retains crisp factory markings throughout. The watch comes supplied on a 2pc handmade black rally strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The original matte black dial featuring red and white accents remains in flawless condition, showing no damage or age whatsoever. The tritium lume plots have achieved a gorgeous creamy patina and exhibit no degradation when inspected under UV light. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly, under UV light inspection the minute hand shows a small portion of lume loss at the base of the hand and remains stable, and the hour hand remains fully intact. In classic Cal. 15 fashion the running seconds hand is located at 10 o'clock and the 30-minute recorder is at 3 o'clock.

ACCESSORIES 

The watch comes with its original coffin box, the Heuer hang tag and the Heuer guarantee pamphlet are blank which is normal for Heuer from this era and are believed to be original to the watch. The watch was recently serviced and is keeping time perfectly, backed by a 1-year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
