*Unpolished* 2000 Rolex Day-Date 18K WG (Ref. 118209) Cherry Dial W/ Papers
The Rolex Day-Date is one of the most iconic and beautiful watches in the Rolex catalog. The Rolex Day-Date earned the nickname "President" after it was rumored President Dwight Eisenhower wore one, but Eisenhower actually wore a Rolex 18K yellow gold Oyster-Perpetual Datejust which Rolex gifted to him in 1953. However, the nickname "President" is quite fitting for the Day-Date as Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Ford, Reagan, Nixon, and Roosevelt, all wore the Rolex Day-Date. Apart from its executive affiliation, the Day-Date is a symbol of status and luxury, only produced in highly refined precious metals including 18K yellow, white, and rose gold and also platinum, featuring both the day and date complications within the movement.
Rolex introduced the cal. 3155 in 1988, this movement featured an updated double-quickset complication allowing the user to quickly set both the day and date complication. While in position two of the crown, rotating the crown clockwise with quickly change the date, while counterclockwise will quickly change the day.

CASE & BRACELET
The unpolished 18K white gold case is in superb overall condition, showing gentle signs of use with excellent factory dimensions throughout. The smooth 18K white gold bezel is also unpolished with gentle signs of use. The unpolished case back is crisp showing minimal signs of use. The rare and original 18K white gold Rolex 73859 hidden-clasp Oyster bracelet retains 12 full-size links and 1 half link, the bracelet shows gentle wear with absolutely no stretch and will fit up to a 7-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original and very rare "cherry" dial is simply stunning, with a deep fuchsia color that changed from red to purple depending on the dial's angle with light. There are a few subtle imperfections on the very edge of the dial that aren't noticeable on wrist but mostly exist between 10 and 12 o'clock, otherwise, the dial is in superb original condition. The luminova markers are bright white and the luminova hands match perfectly. The day and date wheels are Chinese.
ACCESSORIES
The watch comes with its original Rolex guarantee paper, red Rolex card wallet, Rolex translation papers, and service warranty booklet. The Chinese day and date wheels were sourced with the watch and are believed to be originally ordered with the watch. The watch is keeping time within COSC spec, previous service history is unknown.
