1971 Rolex Two-Tone Oyster-Perpetual Date (Ref. 1505) Blue Mosaic "Phoenix Country Club" Dial
The Rolex Oyster-Perpetual Date is one of the best value-per-dollar Rolex watches that exists on the market today. Priced slightly below the more predominantly known and slightly larger Rolex Datejust, the vintage OP Date is often found in great condition with unique dials that offer more presence than what could be achieved by case size alone.
The Phoenix Country Club was founded more than 100 years ago, in 1899, and has remained a prestigious sporting club that hosts some of the world's premier sporting events in Tennis and Golf.

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent case retains thick and symmetrical lugs that show minimal signs of previous polishing and gentle signs of use. The 14K yellow gold engine-turned bezel is in very crisp condition with no notable signs of wear or previous polishing present. The watch comes supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The stunning blue mosaic dial is cobranded with the Phoenix Country Club's logo above the 6 o'clock and is remarkably well-preserved, showing no blemishes or signs of age while maintaining a beautiful depth only achieved by this type of dial. The tritium lume plots have taken on a creamy patina, under UV light inspection the 2 and 3 o'clock plots remain present, though they show subtle degradation. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly, under UV light inspection the minute hand lume appears to have been previously stabilized. The metallic gold date wheel is original with "open" 6's and 9's.
