1977 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1603) Sigma Dial

The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made, even though the Datejust was launched in 1945 it has remained a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. The Datejust can be worn just as easily with a suit as it can be with jeans and a tee-shirt.

Vintage Rolex DateJust Ad

This specific ref. 1603 from 1977 would make a great start for a new vintage collector or be a great addition to an expanding collection. We love the Rolex Datejust for its simplicity and its classic sophistication. Perfectly worn in any setting from formal to casual. A Sigma dial is a Rolex dial named for the letters printed at the bottom of the dial at the 6 o'clock position. Most Rolex dials are commonly marked with “T Swiss T,” under the 6 o'clock marker, however, a Sigma dial is marked “σ T SWISS T σ.” This signifies the use of gold components within the dial.
