*Unpolished* 1970 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1601) Lavender Dial
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and beloved Rolex watches ever created. Since the Datejust was launched in 1945 it has remained a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of quality and functional design.
Worn with ease in any setting, the Datejust is a classic for a reason. We love the early Rolex Datejust for its simplicity and understated sophistication and this example is no exception, featuring a flawless and rare lavender "pie-pan" dial. The Datejust can be worn just as easily with a suit as with jeans and a tee shirt.

CASE & BRACELET
The beautiful case appears to remain unpolished, though the case does show gentle "sleeve polishing" through wear. The symmetrical and thick lugs exhibit crisp factory dimensions and strong angles throughout with only light signs of honest use. The white gold fluted bezel remains unpolished and features a gorgeous patina from age and oxidation. The case back is also unpolished with its factory finishing remaining in crisp condition. The original Rolex 6251H rolled-link Jubilee bracelet with 55 end pieces is stamped 4/70 and retains 24 links that show almost no stretch and will fit up to an 8-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original and rare lavender "pie-pan" dial is absolutely stunning and also in flawless condition. The tritium lume plots have taken on a beautiful creamy-golden patina and display no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly and show no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The metallic date wheel is original with "open" 6's and 9's.
