1966 Rolex Oyster-Perpetual (Ref. 1007) Silver Dial

While Rolex began using self-winding movements in the early 1930s, it wasn't until 1950 that it was given a proper name with the introduction of the Oyster-Perpetual. Many models in the Rolex catalog would go on to wear the names Oyster and/or Perpetual on their dials, including this simple no-date model from 1966.

CASE & BRACELET

The stainless steel case shows honest wear, and looks to have been gently polished in the past but still exhibits thick and full lugs that remain symmetrical in presence with defined edges and dimensions. The stainless steel engine-turned bezel retains crisp edges and exhibits minimal signs of use. It features its original Rolex-signed crown. The case back is clean with minor signs of wear. The watch is supplied on a two-piece leather strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The original no-date silver dial has aged to almost a champagne hue and shows some marks of age—most notably at the 11 o'clock hour marker, and just outside of the markers for 4 and 7 o'clock—but is otherwise clean and offers a lot of vintage vibe as a result. The tritium lume plots have aged to an almost black patina with no notable degradation present under UV light inspection. The handset shows some patina, and the lume matches the dial perfectly.
