Omega

1947 Omega Automatic Dress Watch 14K YG (Ref. G6525) Cal. 351

$ 2,450

The world of vintage Omega is vast. It's filled with interesting and unique references, to a degree, unlike almost any other manufacturer. This is true whether you're looking for something for racing, dressing up, diving, or any other function. Omega does it all – and does it all to the nines.

Case in point, this gorgeous 14k gold automatic dress watch from the '40s. It may not have one of the famous monikers on the dial (Seamaster, DeVille, etc) but it makes up for it with a demure, timeless, super clean dial that, in some ways, is even better. The Breguet-style numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock add just a touch of sportiness to it, but not so much that you couldn't rock this watch under the cuff of your tux.

But one of the coolest parts of this watch is hiding underneath – that's the incredible engraving on the case back. It's a masterclass in the lost art of painstaking, meaningful, beautiful watch engraving to mark a special occasion or gift. And what a gift this watch would've been – and would still be today.

Rogers Sept. 9th 1950." The watch comes supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.

The elegantly simple champagne dial is in exceptional original condition. It features Breguet numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock and, apart from a few small spots from age, it's clean and free from any major damage. The original gold hands complement the subtle elegance of this watch perfectly and remain in excellent condition.
