1960s Alsta Nautoscaph Superautomatic "Jaws"
Alstater aka Alsta was a New York-based company founded in 1946. Alsta started off importing and casing watch movements for other brands in addition to their own brands making for some unique variants of different watches under various brand names. However, the movements were all signed Alstater. This is quite common for other watches including the famous ALSTA Nautoscaph aka “JAWS” diver that was made famous after being worn by Richard Dreyfuss in the cult classic motion picture.

CASE & BRACELET
The lightly polished case retains its factory angles and shows minimal signs of use. The original bezel is in overall excellent condition and shows light signs of previous use. The unsigned screw-down crown is believed to be the original to the watch. The case back retains all of its original factory markings and shows some light tool marks from a previous service. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc rubber tropic strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The gorgeous blue sunburst dial is in excellent vintage condition, with a lovely light blue patina that is consistent throughout. The tritium lume plots have aged to a darker sandy coloration, under U.V. light inspection the 11 and 12 o'clock markers display some very minor degradation, and the rest of the lume plots remain fully intact. The original tritium hands match the dial nicely, under U.V. light inspection both hands display some minor degradation and remain stable.
