1964 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1601) Silver "Underline" Dial

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent case retains thick and symmetrical lugs that show light signs of use and evidence of gentle polishing in the past. The white gold fluted bezel is extremely crisp showing nominal signs of previous use. The Rolex rolled-link Jubilee bracelet with 55 end pieces features a service 6251H clasp which is very common, the bracelet retains 20 links that show nominal stretch and will fit up to a 7 1/4-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original and very rare "underline" silver sunburst "pie pan" dial is in exceptional vintage condition showing only gentle aging and no damage marks. The dial features the sought-after and elusive underline underneath the SCOC text. The early tritium lume plots have aged to a charming creamy beige patina with no degradation present when inspected under UV light. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly and show no degradation when inspected under UV light. The metallic date wheel is original with "closed" 6's and 9's.
