1968 Omega Seamaster 120 (Ref. 136.027) "Manual Wind"

Vintage Omega Seamaster 120

There is something about the early vintage Omega Seamsters that truly embodies the golden era of dive watches of the 1960-1970's. Omega has a long history and heritage in dive watches, which dates back to the 1930s.  The seahorse adorned caseback of the Seamaster series pays tribute to Neptune, the Roman god of the sea. The seahorse logo was conceived by engraver Jean-Pierre Borle.  He was inspired by an image of Neptune driving a chariot pulled by seahorses, which is why the Omega seahorses are depicted wearing bridles.

CASE & BRACELET

The excellent case is believed to remain unpolished as it retains sharp lines and correct factory dimensions with light signs of honest use. The original bezel has taken on a lovely dark gray coloration with an original matte anti-reflective texture still present with the pearl still intact at the 12 o'clock. The original omega crystal shows some light crazing around the outer edges. The case back remains unpolished as well, retaining its factory vertical brushing with some wear, the original factory Seamaster engraving remains fully intact. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc rubber tropic strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The matte black dial with applied "Omega" logo is in near factory flawless condition, showing no major imperfections or signs of aging. The tritium lume markers have aged to a handsome yellow patina and exhibit no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands have taken on a slight green patina, which is common and matches the overall asethetic of the watch.
