Vintage Rolex Ad

The "Ghost" dial Datejusts are one of the most sought-after dial variants of Rolex Datejusts. The grey dial with white text has received the nickname "Ghost" dial as the white text printed on the dial in certain light blends into the medium grey finish. The "Ghost" dial is a medium grey and not to be mistaken with the more commonly seen grey sunburst dial that has a more metallic-like look making This dial variant not only rare but highly sought-after by the vintage Rolex collector community!

The original Rolex 6251H rolled-link Jubilee bracelet with 55 end pieces is stamped 3/72 and retains 22 links that show normal stretch for the age and style of the bracelet. The bracelet will fit up to an 8-inch wrist.

DIAL & HANDS

The exceptional satin grey pie-pan "ghost" dial is beautifully preserved, showing only gentle aging on the edges of the main dial. The dial is a pale grey coloration that blends with the white text at certain angles which creates the sought-after ghost effect. The tritium lume plots have achieved a creamy patina and all remain intact, though there is light degradation present in some of the lume plots when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands have aged a shade darker but coordinate with the dial nicely and exhibit no degradation under U.V. light. The metallic date wheel is original with open 6's and 9's.
