1972 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1601) Silver "Wide Boy" Sigma Dial

The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made. This 1972 Datejust ref. 1601 is fitted with a unique silver Sigma dial that features a sought-after dial layout, commonly referred to as the "Wide Boy" as the marker and hand configuration are much wider in look and design than the typical stick markers and baton hands more commonly found on Datejust references of the same era. Perfectly worn in any setting from formal to casual. A Sigma dial is a Rolex dial named for the letters printed at the bottom of the dial at the 6 o'clock position. Most Rolex dials are commonly marked with “T Swiss T,” under the 6 o'clock marker, however, a Sigma dial is marked “σ T SWISS T σ.” This signifies the use of gold components within the dial.
