The Datejust would make a fantastic starting point for a new vintage collector and is always a great addition to an expanding collection.

Vintage Rolex Datejust Ad

This 1972 Datejust ref. 1603 is a unique blue Sigma dial that features a sought-after dial layout, commonly referred to as the "Wide Boy" as the marker and hand configuration are much wider in look and design than the typical stick markers and baton hands more commonly found on Datejust references of the same era. Perfectly worn in any setting from formal to casual. A Sigma dial is a Rolex dial named for the letters printed at the bottom of the dial at the 6 o'clock position. Most Rolex dials are commonly marked with “T Swiss T,” under the 6 o'clock marker, however, a Sigma dial is marked “σ T SWISS T σ.” This signifies the use of gold components within the dial.
