*Unpolished* 1973 Rolex Oysterdate Precision (Ref. 6694) Silver Linen Dial
If you know, you know. Initially released in the early ‘50s with the ref. 6094, the Rolex Oysterdate Precision was designed as a simple, manually-wound, entry-level alternative to Rolex’s recently released Datejust and Date models, featuring a 34mm case and little more than a date complication for features and ornamentation.
After a few iterations in between, Rolex perfected the Oysterdate in the minds of many with the ref. 6694. Featuring an upgraded 17-jewel cal. 1225 movement, this was the model’s final iteration, but also its longest-living version, with a production run that stretched nearly 30 years, until it was finally discontinued in the late ‘80s.
This ref. 6694 is a fantastic example of that final iteration, featuring a beautiful grey dial and an original stainless steel oyster bracelet. It’s a great way to get your Rolex story started or a fantastic next addition to any collection.

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent case is believed to remain unpolished as no notable evidence of previous polishing is present and the original case finishing and dimensions are fully intact. The smooth stainless steel bezel also appears to remain unpolished with gentle signs of honest use present. The original Rolex 7835 Oyster bracelet with 357 end pieces retains 12 links that exhibit minimal stretch and will fit up to a 7 1/2-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original silver "linen" dial maintains and beautiful vintage aesthetic and is in overall excellent condition. The dial itself features gentle elements of age but no actual damage. The tritium lume plots have aged to various colors, some of the plots are creamy yellow while others are nearly black, under U.V. light inspection none of the lume plots exhibit degradation. The original tritium hands match the creamy yellow lume color with no degradation present when inspected under U.V. light. The metallic date wheel is original with open 6's and 9's.
