1982 Rolex Submariner (Ref. 5513) Mk. V Maxi Dial With Box, Papers, and RSC Papers
The Rolex Submariner Reference 5513 is the embodiment of the classic dive watch. The 5513 is simple yet sophisticated and rugged The Ref. 5513 was first introduced in the 1962 and ceased production in late 1989. The Ref. 5513 is a purpose built dive watch that lacks the date function like other Rolex Submariner models. (eg. Ref. 1680.)
This specific 1982 Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513 is commonly referred to as the Maxi Mk V Dial. The Mk V dial is commonly seen in cases stamped in the 7 mil to 8 mil range. The features of the Maxi V Dial include the following:
- "Open 6's" in the feet first depth rating
- The word “SUBMARINER” written above the depth rating and is longer then the depth rating.
- The “=” sign in the depth rating is directly below the “A” in “SUBMARINER”
The Maxi dial was the last matte dial variant for the 5513 reference range before switching to glossy white gold surround dials in 1984. The Maxi dial Submariners have become incredibly sought after due to the larger lume plots specific to these dial variants and the low production numbers toward the end of the matte dial era.

CASE & BRACELET
The unpolished case retains strong chamfers down the lugs showing light honest wear from use. The bezel insert shows no wear or fading and retains its tritium pearl which matches the dial patina nicely. The Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end pieces shows little wear and very light stretch.
DIAL & HANDS
The original matte black Maxi Mk. V dial is in stunning condition, showing no wear or blemishing on the dial. The tritium lume plots exhibit no degradation under U.V. light inspection and have taken on a charming ivory coloration. The original hands have been professionally restored with tritium to match the dial.
ACCESSORIES
Watch comes complete with original inner and outer boxes, warranty papers, and RSC papers. The watch was recently serviced and is running at COSC spec backed by a 1-year warranty on accuracy of timekeeping.
