Omega

1970 Omega Constellation (Ref. 168.042) "Linen Dial"

While today the Constellation line is overshadowed by Omega's Speedmaster and Seamaster models, the striking Omega Constellation family was once the flagship in the Omega collection.

Dating back to 1952, the Omega Constellation has been regarded as one of the most luxurious and precise watch collections offered by the brand. Add to that the fact that they have always been chronometer rated, and you have a watch that is not only stunning in nearly any setting but also incredibly accurate.

This ref 168.042 is one of the most unique in the family tree, with its chunky cushion-shaped case, linen dial, and 20-jewel cal. 1001 movement. It would be an excellent classic piece to add to any collection.

The chunky, almost-square stainless steel case is in crisp unpolished condition with sharp angles and strong factory brushing present throughout. The super clean screwdown case back features the iconic observatory medallion with minimal signs of use. The case retains its original Omega signed crown. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The silver linen dial lends a beautiful texture and depth in different lighting conditions. The tritium lume plots have achieved a handsome creamy patina, under U.V. light inspection the 3 and 4 o'clock lume plots show some degradation. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly, the minute hand does exhibit degradation when inspected under U.V. light.

ACCESSORIES

None. The watch is keeping time and functioning perfectly, previous service history is unknown.
