*Rare* 1995 Rolex Day-Date 18K WG (Ref. 18389) Blue Vignette Diamond Dial W/ Box, Papers, Sales Receipt & Service Receipts
The Rolex Day-Date is one of the most iconic and beautiful watches in the Rolex catalog. The Rolex Day-Date earned the nickname "President" after it was rumored President Dwight Eisenhower wore one, but Eisenhower actually wore a Rolex 18K yellow gold Oyster-Perpetual Datejust which Rolex gifted to him in 1953. However, the nickname "President" is quite fitting for the Day-Date as Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Ford, Reagan, Nixon, and Roosevelt, all wore the Rolex Day-Date. Apart from its executive affiliation, the Day-Date is a symbol of status and luxury, only produced in highly refined precious metals including 18K yellow, white, and rose gold and also platinum, featuring both the day and date complications within the movement.
Rolex introduced the cal. 3155 in 1988, this movement featured an updated double-quickset complication allowing the user to set both the day and date complications quickly. While in position two of the crown, rotating the crown clockwise with promptly change the date, while counterclockwise will quickly change the day.
Under extremely limited productions and to a very exclusive clientele base, Rolex will produce watches that are more art, than actual watch—featuring beautifully set diamond-incrusted cases and bezels with unique dials that require an extra level of refinement to properly create. These watches are seen across the model range for Rolex, including sports models, however the most appreciated is the Day-Date model range as such regal details fit the executive personality of Day-Date perfectly.

CASE & BRACELET
The exceptional 18K white gold case displays nominal signs of previous use and features factory diamond-set lugs that are in excellent original condition. The factory diamond-set bezel is also fully original and in beautiful overall condition. The sapphire crystal is free of blemishes or stretches. The case retains its original "two-dot" white gold crown. The original Rolex 8385 18K white gold President bracelet retains 22 links that show almost no stretch and will fit up to a 7 1/2-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original blue vignette "Stella" lacquered dial with factory diamond-set markers is truly a work of art and is in flawless orignial condition, showing no damage, age, or cracking whatsoever. The diamond markers have been inspected for clarity and are original to the watch. The tritium lume plots feature a subtle ivory tone and exhibit no degradation under U.V. light inspection. The original tritium white gold hands match the dial perfectly with no degradation present in the lume when inspected under U.V. light.
ACCESSORIES
The watch comes complete with its original box, Rolex guarantee paper, original sales receipt from Wempe, and previous Wempe service papers. The watch is keeping time perfectly within COSC spec, backed by a 1-year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
