*Unpolished* 1947 Rolex Square-Case Precision 9K RG (Ref. 3861) W/ Box
In a time when Rolex was making significant strides in their more utilitarian and tool-based wristwatches, they also created some lesser-known dress timepieces that fly a little more under the radar. The Precision line of dress pieces offers a simple and elegant wrist presence in handsome case designs that remain timeless to this day.
Unlike most of the Rolex catalog, this Precision ref. 3861 features an of-the-moment 9k gold tank-style case that is somehow both striking and refined, and perfectly encapsulates the dress watch style of its era. The manual wind movement helps keep the watch slim in classic dress watch fashion, while the Arabic numerals help give it just a hint of casualness. Rounding out the watch is its original Rolex two-piece leather strap with matching gold plaque Rolex tang buckle.

CASE & BRACELET
The impressive 9k rose gold case is in incredible condition, especially for a nearly 80-year-old watch, and remains unpolished with excellent dimensions, showcasing the beautiful sunset finishing pattern on the side of the case perfectly with very light signs of use present. The unsigned crown appears to be original to the watch. The case back retains its factory engravings which are commonly missing due to polishing, though there is light fading on the case back from general wear. The watch comes supplied on its original Rolex two-piece leather strap with gold plaque Rolex tang buckle.
DIAL & HANDS
The cream dial is in wonderful original condition with a striking vintage aesthetic and some light speckling at certain angles. The original rose gold hour markers are in great condition with minor wear, and perfectly match the rose gold leaf hands.
ACCESSORIES
The watch comes with its original Rolex clamshell-style box. The watch is keeping time, but the service history is unknown. A movement service can be provided upon request.
