Heuer
*Unpolished* 1960s Heuer Carrera 12 (Ref. 2447s) "Abercrombie & Fitch Co."
The Carrera was released the same year as the Daytona and chronographs share both the Singer-made dials and the Valjoux 72 movement. They are both named after races famous races too – the Carrera for the extremely dangerous Carrera Panamericana race through Mexico, but the Carrera has many features that set it apart from its contemporaries.
Heuer’s Carrera line was designed with legibility in mind. The goal was to create a chronograph that was sleek and uncluttered. Heuer had patented a new steel tension ring to hold the crystal in place. To keep the dial as clean as possible, this ring was painted to feature the 1/5 second demarcations. This along with the basic baton markers helped to create the simple, minimal look Heuer had in mind. The case, manufactured by Piquerez, features sharply beveled lugs that add to the overall streamlined look of the design.
The Ref. 2447s seen here was originally called the Carrera 12 for having both a 30-minute and a 12-hour register, allowing for precise timing up to 12 hours.
The Abercrombie & Fitch Co. watches have always been celebrated within the vintage watch community, and not for the quirkiness of the brand's image today, but for the truly beautiful and functional timepieces that were produced for them by Heuer in the 1950s. When Heuer was still owned by Heuer and Abercrombie & Fitch was committed to high-quality equipment.

CASE & BRACELET
The impressive case boasts its original factory geometry in crisp condition as it appears the case has never been polished. The pump pushers and Heuer signed crown remain original to the watch. The case back retains its original factory dimensions and finishing, showing gentle signs of use which is expected. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The original and simply exceptional silver sunburst dial is co-signed by "Abercrombie & Fitch Co." These co-signed dials have become exceedingly uncommon as there were only very few produced. The dial itself shows only very gentle signs of age with no real damage present. The tritium lume plots have taken on a charming creamy-golden patina, under U.V. light inspection the tritium lume plots all remain intact though the 3 and 6 o'clock plots exhibit light degradation which is expected as there is no marker to protect the plots. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly and display no degradation when inspected under U.V. light.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch was recently serviced and is keeping time perfectly, backed by a 1-year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
