1978 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1601) "Buckley Dial"
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made, even though the Datejust was launched in 1945 it has remained a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. The Datejust can be worn just as easily with a suit as it can be with jeans and a tee-shirt. These excellent Roman numeral marker dials, or "Buckley" dials, differentiate themselves as true collector items with painted numerals as opposed to the more commonly seen applied marker, along with matching black hands. The Buckley dials were made famous after a Rolex collector coined the term.
This specific 1978 Datejust ref. 1601 is classic, clean, and stylish. The sought-after white Buckley dial has a unique and handsome look. The watch is accompanied by its original white gold fluted bezel and paired with a handcrafted leather strap appropriate for any setting.
