*Unpolished* 1992 Tudor Blue Submariner (Ref. 79090)
The Rolex/Tudor relationship dates back to 1926 when Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex SA, wanted to create a more affordable alternative. Tudor manufactured Submariners adjacent to the Rolex submariner for many many years. In 1954, the year following the release of Rolex's release of the submariner, Tudor released their first Submariner as an affordable alternative that didn't lack in quality or craftsmanship yet leveraged a non-inhouse Rolex movement. The Tudor submariner 79090 uses the 2824-2 quick set movement which makes adjusting the date on the fly easy! This would make a great addition to a growing collection or be a great first piece as it retains the classic and timeless look of the Submariner!

CASE & BRACELET
The beautiful case remains totally unpolished and retains strong chamfers and factory case finishing. The bezel remains sharp and unpolished as well. The original blue bezel insert is in excellent condition, remaining deep blue in coloration with minimal signs of use, and retains its tritium pearl at the 12 o’clock position which matches the dial patina nicely. The case retains its original Rolex signed trip-lock crown. The original Tudor 9315 folded-link Oyster bracelet with 380B end pieces is unpolished like the case, retains 11 links, and shows some stretch from use which is common for this bracelet style.
DIAL & HANDS
The original blue dial is in excellent vintage condition and there is a small mark above the hand stack and on the outer minute track below the 9 o’clock marker. The tritium lume plots have aged to a handsome creamy patina and exhibit no degradation under U.V. light inspection. The original tritium hands have aged to a slightly more yellow patina and match the aesthetic of the watch nicely, under U.V. light inspection the hands show no degradation or lume loss.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch is keeping time and functioning perfectly, the extended service history is unknown.
