Breitling
1955 Breitling Premier Chronograph (Ref. 1190) "Giro D'Italia"
The Breitling Premier was a showing of the brand's versatility as a luxury watchmaker, as a differentiation from their more utilitarian Chromomat, the Premier became the brand more lifestyle-oriented watch. Marketed towards the gentleman that casually engaged in sporting activities, such as driving, flying, or cycling.
The Giro D'Italia is one of the major European multi-leg cycling races that happen annually and is essentially the Tour de France, through Italy. Breitling was a sponsor of the Giro D'Italia throughout the 50s and fittingly co-branded the Premier for the Italian market during this time period.
