1956 Rolex Oyster-Perpetual (Ref. 6569) "German OCC" Dial
While Rolex began using self-winding movements in the early 1930s, it wasn't until 1950 that it was given a proper name with the introduction of the Oyster-Perpetual. Many models in the Rolex catalog would go on to wear the names Oyster and/or Perpetual on their dials, including this simple no-date model from 1956.
The tenured model has been a mainstay within the Rolex catalog since its introduction and remains as one of the most sought-after offerings. It also features the very rare "Amtlich Geprufter Chronometer"—the German version of the "Officially Certified Chronometer" (OCC) dials more commonly seen—writing just above 6 o'clock, making this a unique and understated piece of horological history.

CASE & BRACELET
The stainless steel case shows honest wear, and looks to have been gently polished in the past but still exhibits thick and full lugs that remain symmetrical in presence with defined edges and dimensions. The stainless steel engine-turned bezel retains crisp edges and exhibits minimal signs of use. It features its original Rolex-signed crown. The case back is clean with minor signs of wear. The watch is supplied on a two-piece leather strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The original "German OCC" dial is incredibly rare, and features a beautifully speckled patina throughout. The radium lume plots have aged to a black color and remain mostly intact but do exhibit general degradation when inspected under UV light. The original dauphine radium-lumed hands match the dial perfectly, under UV light inspection the hour hand shows some lume loss and remains stable. Completing the package is a blued second hand.
