1960 Omega Seamaster Automatic 14K YG (Ref. L 6590) Gold "Tapestry" Dial

$ 2,650

The Speedmaster might be the watch that made Omega a household name (and took it to the moon), but the Seamaster has been around quite a bit longer and has its own incredible legacy worth talking about.

First released in 1948 in celebration of Omega’s centennial anniversary, the Seamaster became a worldwide success and was the brand’s top seller for a long time. Today, it’s the longest-running name in the Omega catalog and still holds a special place in plenty of collectors’ hearts.

According to the engraving on the case back, this gorgeous 14k gold Omega Seamaster ref. L 6590 was originally gifted to a National Silver Company employee in 1960, and with that beautiful gold crosshair tapestry dial, what a special gift it must have been.

CASE & BRACELET

The 14K yellow gold case is in exceptional condition, showcasing the original case dimensions and angles in impressively crisp condition with only light signs of previous polishing present. The case retains its original Omega-signed crown. The case back features an engraving that reads "National Silver Company, Million Dollar Club, 1960". The watch comes supplied on a two-piece leather strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The original gold tapestry dial is in virtually flawless condition, exhibiting no age or damage whatsoever. The small tritium lume dots at the end of each marker have achieved a lovely creamy beige patina with minimal degradation present under UV light inspection. The original yellow gold handset matches the dial perfectly, under UV light inspection the minute hand is missing some lume though it has little aesthetic effect to the naked eye.
