Omega

1962 Omega Constellation 14K YG (Ref. 14900SC) Silver "Cartier Cosigned" Pie-Pan Dial W/ Cartier Milanese Bracelet

Dating back to 1952, the Omega Constellation has been regarded as one of the most luxurious and precise watch collections offered by the brand. Add to that the fact that they have always been chronometer-rated, and you have a watch that is not only stunning in nearly any setting but also incredibly accurate.

Of the many variations of the Constellation through the years, the most celebrated are those that feature the pie-pan dials from the 1950s and 60s. Apart from the obvious depth the pie-pan effect creates, these watches boast beautiful marker variations and dial details.

While Cartier has been synonymous with luxury jewelry and watches since the brand's inception in 1847, the Maison is best known for their own creations. However, much like Tiffany & Co. and other jewelers, Cartier also retailed other luxury watch brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, and even Omega. With the Cartier name signed directly on the dial, much like Tiffany & Co., but even more so, these specially signed dials are incredibly rare and sought after within the collector community, with only a handful surfacing every few years.

Not only is this impressively well-preserved 14K yellow gold Omega Constellation adorned with the Cartier signature on the dial, but this incredibly well-rounded example is adorned throughout. Featuring the Cartier inventory engraving on the back of the top left lug as well as an extremely rare Cartier 14K yellow gold milanese bracelet with straight end pieces to match the watch. Together, these components form one of the most important Omega watches we've had the pleasure to offer, a truly special and unique opportunity to capture a piece of horological history.

DIAL & HANDS

The rare, potentially unique in this configuration, and beautiful Cartier cosigned two-tone finished "pie-pan" dial features a satin inner dial with the outer portion of the dial finished in a concentric brushed pattern. The dial itself remains in virtually flawless vintage condition as well, exhibiting no damage whatsoever or notable elements of age. The text, including the Cartier signature, is all well-preserved and fully intact. The applied logos, ornate markers add to the sophisticated presence of the dial. Minor degradation is present in some of the tritium lume plots located at the tip of each marker when inspected under UV light and the lume has achieved a subtle warm beige patina. The original yellow gold dauphine hands are in excellent condition as well, the tritium lume in the hands matches the dial nicely, under UV light inspection the minute hand exhibits a small portion of missing lume and remains stable while the hour hand remains fully intact.
