1963 Rolex Day-Date 18k WG (Ref. 1803) Gilt Non-Luminous Dial
The Rolex Day-Date is one of the most iconic and beautiful watches in the Rolex catalog. The Rolex Day-Date earned the nickname "President" after it was rumored President Dwight Eisenhower wore one, but Eisenhower actually wore a Rolex 18K yellow gold Oyster-Perpetual Datejust which Rolex gifted to him in 1953. However, the nickname "President" is quite fitting for the Day-Date as Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Ford, Reagan, Nixon, and Roosevelt, all wore the Rolex Day-Date. Apart from its executive affiliation, the Day-Date is a symbol of status and luxury, only produced in highly refined precious metals including 18K yellow, white, and rose gold and also platinum, featuring both the day and date complications within the movement.
Rolex always finds the perfect balance between luxury and functionality, and this 1963 Rolex Day-Date ref. 1803 really sets itself apart in solid 18k white gold with a beautiful non-luminous glossy gilt dial and handset, and a rare "Made in Japan" President bracelet. We love white gold watches as they carry the weight of solid 18k gold with a subtle statement and an extra level of refinement.

CASE & BRACELET
The strong and symmetrical 18k white gold case exhibits light signs of honest use with thick lugs and has achieved a slightly warm patina throughout. The 18k white gold fluted bezel remains crisp and in exceptional condition, showing only minimal signs of use. The rare and original Rolex "Made in Japan" 18K white gold President bracelet retains 19 links with almost no stretch from use and will fit up to a 7 1/2-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The exceptionally well-preserved and gorgeous glossy black gilt dial is both sought-after and exceedingly seldom to see in this fine of condition. The dial itself retains its glossy finish without hairline cracks that would be commonly seen in gilt dials, and the only visible element of age is a very subtle texture that is only visible under direct light with magnification. The non-luminous baton hands match the quality of the rest of the watch with only minor signs of age present. The metallic date wheel is original with open 6's and 9's.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch is keeping time and functioning correctly, previous service history is unknown.
