1966 Omega Ladies Seamaster 120 Automatic (Ref. 566.00007)

Vintage Omega Seamaster 120

The Speedmaster might be the watch that made Omega a household name (and took it to the moon), but the Seamaster has been around quite a bit longer and has its own incredible legacy worth talking about.

First released in 1948 in celebration of Omega’s centennial anniversary, the Seamaster became a worldwide success and was the brand’s top seller for decades. Today, it’s the longest-running name in the Omega catalog and still holds a special place in plenty of collectors’ hearts.

In 1966, the brand unveiled the Seamaster 120 as a little sibling to the heavily dive-centric Seamaster 300, offering a more svelt, wearable watch that was still plenty robust enough to dive with.

This ref. 566.00007 is a very early example of the women's version of the 120, a 31mm piece that packs a whole lot of purpose into a small package. It's in great condition, despite being nearly 60 years old, with some signs of honest use just waiting to accompany someone for the next 60 years of wear.

The original bezel shows some wear, has faded to a fantastic dark grey coloration, and retains its original tritium pearl. The case retains its original Omega-signed winding crown. The original case back engravings remain deep and clearly visible. The watch comes supplied on its original Omega stainless steel bracelet which retains 19 links that show light stretch and will fit up to a 6 1/2-inch wrist.

DIAL & HANDS

The handsome matte black dial is in wonderful overall condition showing no notable signs of age and no damage. The tritium lume has developed a handsome creamy patina, showing no degradation under U.V. light inspection. The original tritium hands have aged to match the dial perfectly.
