1968 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1601) Grey Dial
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made, even though the Datejust was launched in 1945 it has remained a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. The Datejust can be worn just as easily with a suit as it can be with jeans and a tee-shirt. The Datejust would make a great start for a new vintage collector, or be a great addition to an expanding collection.

CASE & BRACELET
The strong case has been lightly polished in the past and retains very thick and symmetrical lugs that exhibit light, honest signs of use. The white gold fluted bezel is unpolished and remains in crisp condition with minimal signs of use. The original Rolex 6251H Jubilee bracelet with 55 end pieces is stamped 4/68 and remains in excellent vintage condition, retaining 18 links that show slight stretch from use.
DIAL & HANDS
The excellent grey sunburst "pie pan" dial has achieved a slight purple coloration that is enhanced in the sunlight. The dial itself shows no blemishes or marks. The tritium lume plots have aged to a handsome creamy yellow patina and show no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The hands are original to the watch and appear to have received a color match restoration prior to our acquisition, the minute hand lume shows some light cracking in the lume under magnification. The date wheel displays closed 6's and 9's which is correct for this watches era.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch is keeping time and functioning perfectly, previous service history is unknown.
