1978 Tudor Date-Day Ref. 94500
After the mid-1970s, the Tudor Date Day watches change reference. The case still manufactured by Rolex is resized down to a more common 36 mm size. There are three available bezels, available in white gold fluted, stainless steel polished, and in a steel, engine turned option. The really cool thing about the later 94500 reference is the double quick set day and date feature of the ETA 2834 which is a feature found on the later model big brother Rolex president references. The other obvious difference between the Tudor Day-Date and the Rolex Day-Date is their weight. The Rolex Day-Dates are always in a precious metal while the Tudor was only offered in two tone or stainless steel.
This specific Tudor Day-Date example is a very cool piece. It is functional due to the fact that it displays the day and the date, and stainless steel case makes it a very versatile and functional timepiece. this would make a unique and functional daily driver that would is suitable in many settings casual to formal.
