1970 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1601) Blue Mosaic Dial
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and beloved Rolex watches ever made. This classic dress watch has been produced by the Swiss luxury watchmaker since 1945 and has remained a timeless classic that is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. The Datejust was designed for everyday wear, and its sleek and elegant design makes it one of the most universally loved watches for both men and women.
The textured dials, otherwise known as "mosaic" dials have been a consistent favorite for collectors, especially when housed in a Datejust as they were more commonly seen in Rolex 34mm models. Mosiac dials were produced in a variety of colors ranging from, silver, grey, blue, taupe, and champagne. All of which provide an artistic depth to the wearer's wrist while maintaining the understated sophistication of the Rolex Datejust.

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent case retains very thick and symmetrical lugs that show gentle signs of previous polishing and honest wear. The white gold fluted bezel is crisp with minimal signs of use present. The Rolex rolled-link Jubilee bracelet with 55 end pieces retains 22 links that show normal stretch for the style and age of the bracelet and will fit up to an 8-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The beautiful, vibrant, and original blue mosaic "pie-pan" dial is simply a work of art, offering a truly unique look with immense depth. The dial does exhibit some expected signs of age, however, the texture of the dial masks most of the aging making it almost invisible to the naked eye. The tritium lume plots feature a lovely creamy patina and exhibit no degradation when inspected under UV light. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly with some light oxidation present, under UV light inspection no degradation is present. The metallic date wheel is original with open 6's and 9's.

None. The watch is keeping time, but the service history is unknown. A movement service can be provided upon request.
