1970 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1601) No Lume Grey "Linen Dial”
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made, even though the Datejust was launched in 1945 it has remained a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. The Datejust can be worn just as easily with a suit as it can be with jeans and a tee-shirt.
This specific ref. 1601 from 1970 would make a great start for a new vintage collector or be a great addition to an expanding collection. We love the early Rolex Datejust for its simplicity and its classic sophistication. Perfectly worn in any setting from formal to casual. The grey "Linen" dial is uncommon and very much desirable among the vintage Rolex collector community as it is striking and gets its nickname from the texture of the dial pattern which is reminiscent of linen cloth.
