Omega
1970s Omega Seamaster De Ville 14K YG (Ref. C6865) "Tiffany & Co."
The world of vintage Omega is vast. It's filled with interesting and unique references, to a degree, unlike almost any other manufacturer. Whether one wishes to collect a racing, dress, diving, or any other category of watch. Omega has them all.
The Omega De Ville was first introduced as a subcategory under the Seamaster name in the early 60s, though, Omega quickly expanded upon the De Ville model as it saw early success with the trend of dressier wristwatch styles that continued through the 1970s. Eventually, Omega instituted the De Ville a stand-alone product line within the Omega family where it remains today as one of the brand's most respected names, producing many unique designs from subtle to extravagant.
The Omega Seamaster De Ville ref. C6865 presented here is a truly fascinating and attractive piece. This model was produced in 14K yellow gold specifically for the US market in the 1970s, however, this example is made even rarer as it was retailed by "Tiffany & Co." which is also co-branded on the beautiful vertically brushed champagne dial. One of our favorite details of this watch is the typeface of the Tiffany & Co. text, which is commonly referred to among collectors as the "Western Font" for its resemblance to the typefaces used for wooden signs seen on old Western-style saloons.
