Omega
1972 Omega Constellation Electronic F 300Hz 'Gold Plated' (Ref. 1980034) Hammered Gold Dial W/ Blue Enamel Center
While today the Constellation line is overshadowed by Omega's Speedmaster and Seamaster models, the striking Omega Constellation family was once the flagship in the Omega collection.
Dating back to 1952, the Omega Constellation has been regarded as one of the most luxurious and precise watch collections offered by the brand. Add to that the fact that they have always been chronometer-rated, and you have a watch that is not only stunning in nearly any setting but also incredibly accurate.
But even within a line as well-known as this, there can always be a few super-unique pieces that fly a little more under the radar. Case in point, this Constellation Electronic f300 Hz, ref. 198.0034.
At first glance, you'll notice this isn't your typical Constellation, with its large cushion-style gold-plated case and opulent hammered gold dial with a vibrant blue enamel center that emulates the appearance of lapis lazuli stone.
Just listen for the hum instead of the typical ticking of a mechanical watch and you'll know why this is such a fun, beloved piece.

CASE & BRACELET
The gold-plated case is in lightly worn, well-preserved vintage condition, showing minimal evidence of previous polishing with the original case dimensions and chamfers present. The original Omega crown is partially missing its plating from wear. The case back displays some tool marks from being previously serviced but it is in overall good condition. The watch comes supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The beautifully crafted and luxurious dial features a hammered gold texture around the outer portion which holds the markers and an extravagantly vibrant blue enamel center which features a gold fleck designed to look like lapis lazuli stone. The dial itself is in wonderful condition and the blue enamel does feature some surface spidering which is expected in enamel from this era. The tritium lume plots feature a charming beige patina, under UV light inspection there is some lume missing in the plots around the dial, though it does not affect the aesthetic of the watch. The original tritium hands feature a dark grey patina and exhibit no degradation under UV light inspection.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch was recently serviced and is keeping time perfectly, backed by a 1-year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
