1969 Rolex Submariner (Ref. 5513) "Non-Serif" Dial
The Rolex Submariner reference 5513 is the embodiment of the classic dive watch. The 5513 is simple yet sophisticated and rugged. The ref. 5513 was first introduced in 1962 and ceased production in late 1989. The ref. 5513 is a purpose-built dive watch that lacks the date function like other Rolex Submariner models.
This 1972 Rolex Submariner ref. 5513 checks all the vintage must-haves for a reference 5513, we especially love the eggshell patina of the lume and the grey faded "fat-font" bezel insert. The overall aesthetic of this watch is everything we love about vintage submariners. This Rolex Submariner reference 5513 would make a great daily driver as it's appropriate for any style and setting.

CASE & BRACELET
The strong case boasts impressive lugs that retain factory chamfers while showing honest signs of use and minimal signs of previous polishing through the symmetrical and thick lugs. The original Mk III "fat font" bezel is in exceptional condition, showing a lovely dark grey fade with gentle signs of use and a tritium pearl at 12 o'clock that matches the dial perfectly. The era-correct Rolex 9315 folded-link Oyster bracelet with 380 end pieces dates to 1979 and retains 11 links that show normal stretch for the style and age of the bracelet, the watch will fit up to an 8-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original and attractive matte black "non-serif" dial is in very well-preserved vintage condition, showing no damage and some elements of age that are only nominal in nature. The tritium lume plots have achieved a charming creamy-eggshell patina and exhibit no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands are a shade lighter than the dial but perfectly fit the appearance of the watch, under U.V. light inspection the hour and minute hands exhibit some superficial cracking in the lume and remain stable, the seconds hand is fully intact.
