1975 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1603) Blue "Buckley" Dial
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made. Launched in 1945, it has remained a timeless classic, instantly recognizable as an item of advanced quality and functional design. The Datejust’s exemplary style makes it an extremely versatile choice, worn just as easily with a suit as with jeans and a t-shirt. The Datejust would make a wonderful starting point for a new vintage collector and is always a great addition to an expanding collection.
Worn with ease in any setting, this incredibly cool, sought-after, and rarely seen blue "Buckley" dial stands out from your typical Datejust. Featuring a satin blue dial with white painted Roman numerals and matching white enamel hands, a combination that pops in all the right ways. The Datejust is a classic for a reason. We love the early Rolex Datejust for its simplicity and understated sophistication.

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent case retain very thick and symmetrical lugs that exhibit honest signs of gentle use with minimal evidence of being previously polished present. The stainless steel engine turned bezel is also very crisp, showing only expected signs of subtle wear. The Rolex 78360 Oyster bracelet is era-correct and believed to be original to the watch. The bracelet retains 13 links that show almost no stretch and will fit up to a 7 1/2-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original "pie-pan" satin blue "Buckely" dial with white Roman numerals is simply beautiful and remains in especially well-preserved condition. The dial shows very minor patina at its edges and around the lume plots which is common for colored Datejust dials of this era, but no actual damage is present. The tritium lume plots all remain intact and have achieved a charming golden patina with subtle degradation present when inspected under UV light. The original and very rare white hands have been professionally restored with tritium to match the dial. The metallic date wheel is original with "open" 6's and 9's.
