1987 Rolex GMT-Master II (Ref. 16760) "Fat Lady"
Introduced in 1983 the Rolex reference 16760 was the first GMT-Master II and had a few features that weren’t present on the previous GMT Master models. The Rolex GMT Master ref. 16760 was only in production from 1983 until 1988.
These features included a sapphire crystal, an independent ability to set the GMT hand, a thicker case that earned the reference the nickname "Fat Lady", the first GMT to use a black and red insert sometimes referred to as the "Coke" insert and a gloss black dial with white-gold index surrounds. The ref. 16760 is also sometimes referred to as the “Sophia Loren” drawing comparisons between the new curves of the watch and the Italian beauty icon.
This is a truly exceptional example and is becoming a highly sought-after modern classic This piece would make a great stand-alone piece or a great addition to an existing collection!

CASE & BRACELET
The exceptional case was recently professionally polished to display prominent, factory-like finishing and chamfers through the very thick and symmetrical lugs. The original "Coke" bezel insert is in excellent original condition, remaining bright in color with minimal signs of previous use present. The original Rolex 78360 Oyster bracelet retains its original and rare 501 end pieces and has 12 links that show very minimal stretch and will fit up to a 7 1/4-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original glossy black dial with white gold surround markers is beautifully preserved with a charming vintage aesthetic and no actual damage present, retaining the mirror-like glossy finish with a subtle spotted patina. The tritium lume plots have achieved a lovely ivory patina with no degradation present when inspected under UV light. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly, under UV light inspection the minute and 24hr hands exhibit some gentle cracking and remain stable with the rest of the hands showing no degradation. The white date wheel is original with "open" 6's and 9's.

None. The watch is keeping time perfectly, backed by a 1-year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
