1990 Rolex YG Submariner Ref. 16618

During the late 1960's Rolex began producing the immensely Submariner dive watch in luxurious 18 karat yellow gold thus creating a dressed up variant of a notably sporty watch.  The addition of a yellow gold submariner variant offered a watch that could shift effortlessly from adventuresome events in the ocean to classy occasions on land.

This 1990 Submariner ref. 16618 offered in 18K yellow gold is in absolutely flawless and original condition. One can clearly call this watch a "Safe Queen" as the case shows the sharp factory finishing and is free of any scratching or blemishing. The solid 18k YG bracelet is tight and shows zero stretch and also like the case shows the immaculate and untouched factory finishing.  The bezel is sharp and crisp as it would have come from the factory. The stunning black dial is also free of any blemishing and or corrosion and The original tritium lume has started to take on a custard-like patina, the tritium hands are original to the piece and a few shades lighter than the lume plots. When viewed under U.V. light the hands and lume plots glow constantly and even as they should for a watch of this specific era.

The case of this 1990 YG Submariner ref. 16618 shows the sharp factory finishing and is free of any scratching or blemishing. This watch is in 100% unpolished condition. The solid 18k YG 92808 bracelet with fixed 46B end pieces is tight and shows zero stretch and also like the case shows the immaculate and untouched factory finishing.  The bezel is sharp and crisp as it would have come from the factory. The original black insert with the yellow font is free from any fading and or blemishing.

DIAL & HANDS

The stunning black dial is also free of any blemishing and or corrosion and The original tritium lume has started to take on a custard-like patina, the tritium hands are original to the piece and a few shades lighter than the lume plots.
