1990 Tudor Prince Oysterdate (Ref. 74010) Silver Linen Dial W/ Guarantee Paper
The Rolex/Tudor relationship dates back to 1926 when Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex SA, acquired the Tudor company in an effort to create a more affordable alternative to the flagship Rolex name. Producing wristwatch models with similar likeness side by side, both Tudor and Rolex are revered for their quality in craftsmanship and brand integrity. Because Tudor has always been seen as the more-consumer-oriented little brother to Rolex, there is a vast value proposition when buying into the Tudor name, with the likes of very interesting and collectible timepieces with design elements not dared to attempt by the Crown.
The ref. 74010 emulates the look and feel of the classic Rolex Date, however, the Pince Oysterdate stands on its own thanks to Tudor's design nuances. Featuring a stunning dial that consists of a prominent linen texture, along with the unique Tudor Jubilee bracelet and engine-turned bezel the ref. 74010 offers a sophisticated yet versatile aesthetic that bodes itself perfectly for everyday use. The ref. 74010 also utilizes the ETA 2824-2 quick-set date movement, which is also seen in the sought-after Tudor Submariners of the same era.
