*Unpolished* 1985 Rolex Submariner (Ref. 16800)
This Rolex Submariner Ref. 16800 is very versatile and transitional diving watch that combines the best elements of both the vintage and modern Rolex Submariner into one complete package.
The Rolex Submariner Ref 16800 was the first introduced in late 1979 and was the first Rolex Submariner model to include a sapphire crystal. In addition, Rolex also introduced the signature click spring and the bezel became unidirectional instead of the previous bi-directional operation feature of the bezel found in the Ref. 1680 offering more accuracy and further securing the bezel from movement while being used for diving.

CASE & BRACELET
The stunning case is in crisp unpolished condition, retaining sharp chamfers and factory finishing with minimal signs of previous use present. The original bezel insert is deep black with no notable signs of use present and retains its tritium, pearl at the 12 o'clock position which matches the dial patina perfectly. The case retains its original Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 593 end pieces that retains 11 links that show almost no stretch from use and will fit up to a 7 1/4 inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The glossy black dial with white gold surround markers exhibits a subtle, but even matte texture in the dial that is both common and desired in this era. The tritium lume plots and original tritium hands has achieved a gorgeous and perfectly matching golden yellow coloration, neither the dial or hands display lume degradation under U.V. light inspection. The white date wheel is original with open 6's and 9's.
