1954 Omega Seamaster Automatic 'Cal. 354' (Ref. C 2577-3 SC) Black "Honeycomb" Dial

$ 1,450

The Speedmaster might be the watch that made Omega a household name (and took it to the moon), but the Seamaster has been around for quite a bit longer and has its own incredible legacy worth talking about.

First released in 1948 in celebration of Omega’s centennial anniversary, the Seamaster became a worldwide success and was the brand’s top seller for a long time. Today, it’s the longest-running name in the Omega catalog and still holds a special place in plenty of collectors’ hearts.

This ref. C 2577-3 SC is a fantastic example of how well-rounded the Seamaster can be, making it the perfect all-day, everyday timepiece. It’s powered by the respected cal. 354 automatic "bumper" movement, which is fitted into a 35mm yellow gold-capped case with long, broad lugs and a fantastic black "honeycomb" dial. It's a piece that is timeless, relevant, and suited to any environment.

The exceptionally well-preserved yellow gold-cap case exhibits almost no signs of use and retains the original geometry in crisp condition, showing full chamfers down the lugs with minimal evidence of previous polishing. The case retains its original Omega-signed "flat foot" crown. The case back shows signs of gentle polishing and light, honest wear with the original factory "Seamaster" engraving still easily legible.  The watch comes supplied on a 2-piece handmade leather strap with a gold-colored tang buckle.

DIAL & HANDS

The original and beautifully-preserved black "honeycomb" applied-logo dial is simply stunning, showing no major signs of age or wear. The dial features gilt Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock with matching dagger markers at the remaining hours, all of which are clean and in fantastic condition. Likewise, the lume-free gilt dauphine hands are amazing, with virtually no signs of age or wear present.
