1970s Hamilton Dateline UFO (Ref. 64046-3) Silver Dial

$ 1,350

Hamilton was founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1882 and initially specialized in producing pocket watches. The brand boasts a long and impressive history of breakthroughs in design and technology, and while probably best known for their military associations and fantastic field watches, they've put out some really remarkable outliers as well.

Case in point, this incredible Dateline UFO. So named because of its disc-like, lug-free case shape, this is an otherwise incredibly classic piece with an aged silver dial, oversized silver hands and hour markers, and that classic Hamilton understated style.

The case back is clean with only minor signs of wear, and features all of its original engravings in present and legible condition. The watch is supplied on a two-piece leather rally-style strap..

DIAL & HANDS

The original silver dial is in great vintage condition with minor signs of age and a darkening of the hue. The large, rectangular hour markers are in beautiful condition and match the handset well, under UV light inspection the lume does exhibit degradation throughout the markers, however this has no affect on the aesthetic of the watch. The lume in the hands has aged to a light cream color and is in otherwise great condition.
