Seiko
1950s Seiko Chronos Waterproof (Ref. J13046) "Pre-Diver"
Before there was the Silverwave J12082 and the legendary 62MAS, there was this – the Seiko Chronos Waterproof J13046.
While certainly not a true dive watch with its relatively paltry 50m water resistance rating, it was a sign of what was to come for the deeply respected Japanese watchmaker. It featured a triple locking caseback and double screwed down balance bridge, both of which helped the watch to achieve its water resistance.
Aside from that, though, its a classy looking, almost dressy, watch that would work equally well in a boardroom as it would with board shorts. Ultimately, its a testament to Seiko's incredible design sensibilities and timeless approach to their watches.
