Seiko
1972 Seiko Chronograph (Ref. 6138-0017) "UFO"
In the 1960s and 1970s, Seiko produced a large array of chronograph watches. This 6138 dual subregister, "big eye/small eye panda" was quite a renowned and iconic chronograph in Japan at the time, and does not skimp on the intricate and well-designed details Seiko is known for. This model is known for its one large subdial, which is paired with a slightly smaller subdial, and finished with the high contrast of orange on the dials and red in the tachymeter bezel.
Because Seiko made so many varieties of chronographs at the time, and because they were on the more affordable end of the watch spectrum, many of the remaining 70s chronographs saw their fair share of rugged use, revealing their age and decades of use. However, this piece is in great shape for a chronograph of that era.
