Seiko
1976 Seiko Automatic Chronograph (Ref. 6139-6040) Grey Dial
While the title of "First Automatic Chronograph" is a heavily disputed claim (multiple watch companies somewhat simultaneously debuted what they claimed as "the first" automatic chronograph in 1969), there are many who believe Seiko are the rightful owners of that title with their cal. 6139 movement. It has a 30-minute register at the 6 o'clock subdial, with start/stop and reset pushers.

CASE & BRACELET
The lightly polished case retains strong dimensions with only light signs of use. The original tachymeter bezel is also very well-preserved and features a lovely fade to the silver portion. The case retains its original button crown and pump pushers. The case back retains all of its original factory markings in deep and crisp condition. The watch comes supplied on its original Seiko stainless steel bracelet.
DIAL & HANDS
The fantastic grey dial has achieved a beautiful warm taupe patina and is in near-perfect vintage condition, showing almost no signs of age throughout. The lume on the dial shows some age and is a light grey color. The original hands match the dial perfectly and exhibit no degradation when inspected under UV light. The white subdial adds a nice pop of differentiation and matches the box around the day/date window.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch is running and functioning correctly, though the service history is unknown. A movement service can be purchased upon request.
