Jaeger-LeCoultre

1960s LeCoultre Ladies Art-Deco Watch 14K YG

Antoine LeCoultre created the LeCoultre brand in 1833, originally creating movement blanks—or unfinished movements—for some of Switzerland's most prestigious watchmaking houses, including Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet, and Patek Philippe.

In 1937, LeCoultre merged with Jaeger to form Jaeger-LeCoultre and went on to become the brand we know and love today (though until the 1980s Jaeger-LeCoultre reserved the name “Jaeger” only on their watches destined for the United States). The brand has crafted myriad iconic and timeless watches, but this Art Deco style ladies watch from the '60s has to be one of the most immediately eye-catching.

Featuring a dainty 14k gold case that consists of three offset, beveled "columns," the center of which showcases the black dial with gilt markers and handset, all matched to a taupe-colored rope bracelet with matching gold clasp and hardware. It's a time capsule, a heritage piece, and a statement that is both demure and alluring at the same time.
