Tudor
1979 Tudor Snowflake Submariner (Ref. 94110) "Blue"
The Tudor “Snowflake” is the nickname given to the Tudor Submariners with unique features such as the square hour markers and unique snowflake hands that were introduced by Rolex/Tudor to increase visibility in low light conditions. In production from 1968 to the mid-1980s with dial variants commonly found in black or blue and the watch can feature a date complication. However, there is more to the Tudor’s Snowflake Submariner line than its unique and different visual features.
The Tudor Snowflake Submariners, much like the other Submariners produced by Rolex and Tudor, have a long-standing history and were supplied to military forces including the U.S. Navy and the Marine Nationale (French Navy)

The second-generation Tudor Submariners also marked the watchmaker’s transition from caliber 390 movements produced by Parmigiani Fleurier SA (Fleurier) to movements produced by Swiss watchmaker ETA which made the Tudor Snowflake Submariners the first Tudor watches to use these modified ETA movements.
This specific example would make a great addition to a growing collection or be a great first piece as it retains the classic and timeless look of the Submariner while being unique and eye-catching as a result of the unique dial and hand configuration

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent case has been lightly polished in the past, retaining very thick and symmetrical lugs that show only light signs of use. The original "fat-font" blue bezel insert is superb with a desirable fade and minimal signs of use, the bezel insert also retains its tritium pearl at the 12 o'clock position which matches the dial patina nicely. The case retains its original Rolex trip-lock crown. The case back retains all of its original factory markings in crisp condition. The later but era-correct Tudor 9315 folded-link Oyster bracelet with 380 end pieces is in excellent condition and retains 11 links that show light stretch from use.
DIAL & HANDS
The vibrant matte blue snowflake dial is in very well preserved condition, showing no major marks or blemishes, there is a small line at the base of the 12 o'clock triangle. The tritium lume plots have taken on a tasteful creamy yellow coloration and exhibit no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium snowflake hands match the dial perfectly and show no degradation under U.V. light inspection.
