1980s Heuer Carrera (Ref. 510.523) Lemania Cal. 5100

The Carrera was released the same year as the Daytona and chronographs both shared Singer-made dials and the Valjoux 72 movement. They are both named after races famous races too – the Carrera for the extremely dangerous Carrera Panamericana race through Mexico. Through the years the Carrera evolved and took on many roles, however, it always remained a functional chronograph with automotive enthusiasts in mind.

In the 1980s the Heuer Carrera had already seen a few changes, however, the most tasteful to come out of the era is the ref. 510.523. Utilizing the robust Lemania cal. 5100 chronograph movement, the Carrera ref. 510.523 is the most utilitarian reference in its lineage.
